In the first quarter of 2023, the performance of the top 5 communication apps on the Android platform in Bahrain showed varied trends in downloads and revenue, as revealed by Sensor Tower data.

WhatsApp Business saw its weekly downloads fluctuate throughout the quarter. Starting at 2.3K downloads in late December, the app experienced a peak of approximately 2.8K in the week of February 20. The downloads then saw a slight decline, ending the quarter with around 2.1K downloads in the last week of March.

WhatsApp Messenger also displayed an upward trend in downloads, starting from 2K in early January and reaching a peak of about 2.7K in mid-March. The app finished the quarter with approximately 2.2K downloads in the final week of March.

Snapchat showed consistent performance in terms of weekly downloads. The app started with around 2K downloads and saw a slight increase, peaking at roughly 2.2K in mid-March. Revenue for Snapchat varied, starting at $121 and peaking at $165 in mid-January before ending the quarter at around $116.

Telegram experienced steady download numbers, beginning at 1.4K and peaking at approximately 1.8K in mid-March. Revenue for Telegram showed an upward trend, starting at $21 and reaching a peak of $99 in mid-March before settling at $74 by the end of the quarter.

imo-International Calls & Chat had stable weekly downloads, starting at 1.4K and peaking at around 1.7K in mid-February. The app's revenue showed significant growth, starting at $2.3K and peaking at $3.3K in the third week of March.
